Ingredients
For the Jaggery-Ginger Laddus
- 1 cup Sarbu Jaggery Powder
- ½ cup finely grated fresh ginger
- 1 cup roasted sesame seeds
- ½ cup roasted peanuts, crushed
- 2 tbsp ghee
- ½ tsp cardamom powder
- ¼ tsp dry ginger powder
- 1 tbsp water
For Garnishing
- Sesame seeds
- A light sprinkle of cardamom powder
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Ginger
- Wash, peel, and finely grate the fresh ginger.
- Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan.
- Add the grated ginger and sauté on low heat for 4–5 minutes until its raw aroma reduces.
Step 2: Prepare the Jaggery Mixture
- Add Sarbu Jaggery Powder and 1 tbsp water to the pan.
- Cook on low heat, stirring continuously, until the jaggery melts completely.
- Add cardamom powder and dry ginger powder.
- Mix well and cook for another 1–2 minutes.
Step 3: Add the Dry Ingredients
- Add roasted sesame seeds and crushed peanuts to the jaggery mixture.
- Mix thoroughly until everything is evenly coated.
- Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly until it is comfortable to handle.
Step 4: Shape the Laddus
- Grease your palms lightly with the remaining ghee.
- Take small portions of the warm mixture and roll them firmly into round laddus.
- Roll each laddu lightly in sesame seeds if desired.
Step 5: Cool & Serve
Place the laddus on a plate and allow them to cool completely. Once firm, serve or store in an airtight container.
