Ingredients

For the Jaggery-Ginger Laddus

  • 1 cup Sarbu Jaggery Powder
  • ½ cup finely grated fresh ginger
  • 1 cup roasted sesame seeds
  • ½ cup roasted peanuts, crushed
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • ¼ tsp dry ginger powder
  • 1 tbsp water

For Garnishing

  • Sesame seeds
  • A light sprinkle of cardamom powder

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ginger

  1. Wash, peel, and finely grate the fresh ginger.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan.
  3. Add the grated ginger and sauté on low heat for 4–5 minutes until its raw aroma reduces.

Step 2: Prepare the Jaggery Mixture

  1. Add Sarbu Jaggery Powder and 1 tbsp water to the pan.
  2. Cook on low heat, stirring continuously, until the jaggery melts completely.
  3. Add cardamom powder and dry ginger powder.
  4. Mix well and cook for another 1–2 minutes.

Step 3: Add the Dry Ingredients

  1. Add roasted sesame seeds and crushed peanuts to the jaggery mixture.
  2. Mix thoroughly until everything is evenly coated.
  3. Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly until it is comfortable to handle.

Step 4: Shape the Laddus

  1. Grease your palms lightly with the remaining ghee.
  2. Take small portions of the warm mixture and roll them firmly into round laddus.
  3. Roll each laddu lightly in sesame seeds if desired.

Step 5: Cool & Serve

Place the laddus on a plate and allow them to cool completely. Once firm, serve or store in an airtight container.
